Finished product first. I used a combination of Glycerol and Gelatine to make the facial burns in a rush as I was about to leave the house. Wish I had spent more time on it but in the dim light of the bar it looked a lot better. Here is the tutorial I used: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bM1vzOCU1Bs
Got these plastic pearls at a local fabric store for about $4 a yard.
Spray painted silver
Got this fake leathery looking vinyl material also for about $4 a yard.
Cut strips to size and hot glued the pearls on.
The pearls were still not 100% secure and i figured some modge podge might help
It looks like this when you apply it but it dries invisible and gives a nice glossy finish.
Made all armor by hand using EVA foam purchased at Harbor Freight for about $10. Lowed and Home Depot have similar products. Use a heat gun to form it how you want it. There are a ton of youtube tutorials on how to work with EVA foam.
Instead of cutting several pieces I cheated and just cut slits in this one peice to look like scaled armor.
Googly eyes to serve as bolts in the armor. Cheap and effective.
Base layer of black paint.
Then some cheap silver acrylic paint applied with a sponge
Made myself a simple tunic, basically just a long piece of material with a hole for my head, folded over my body and wore a black shirt underneath. I sewed on each of the fake leather strips which took a lot of effort. Ended up using some hot glue as well to secure it in the end.
